The thought about emphasizing more elaborately on Diagnostic and Investigative Medicine was considered while Dr. Harrison Ofiyai, the founder of CLINOTECH was serving in World Health Organization and Doctors without Borders.

As a Physician and Medical Research Scientist, Dr. Ofiyai observed the niche for medical diagnostics especially in his designated service areas in Developing and Underdeveloped Nations where treatment approaches were made without the availability or rather proper considerations of diagnostic tools and services.

At the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver , Canada , Faculty of Medicine where he had last served, Dr. Ofiyai decided to make his research and product development initiatives practically and commercially available for global use, which eventually gave rise to the name CLINOTECH originating from "Clinical Technology".
